Finally here!

I made it! The traveling didn't go quite as planned, though. I went to the airport on Wednesday morning only to find out at the check-in counter that my flight had been canceled. I was put on the same flights the following day. A harried call to Elaine and she turned around to pick me up and take me back to her house. I was most concerned about the reservations I had in Paris, but I was able to call both the hotel and the shuttle company to change my dates.
Thursday morning was a replay, but this time Elaine stayed until I was completely checked in. We left Denver without further ado, but we were late leaving from Washington. Apparently, someone had checked in, turned in their bags but had not boarded the plane. So, their luggage had to be removed but to do so meant unloading all the luggage until the ones in question were found, then reloading them. Anyway, at long last, I arrived in Paris on Friday morning.
I managed to get a phone and a European cord for my computer. If you want the number, just let me know and I'll email it to you. I'm not to keen to post it here.
Today, Sunday, I have made my way to the school --TWICE!! I have too much luggage and simply could not manage it all at one time. I left the hotel with two large bags and a small one and took the train to Tournan. The director picked me up at the train station and I left my luggage, then returned to Paris. I went back to the hotel, picked up one more large suitcase and another small one and made the trip back to Tournan. I am up in my room now, taking a break from unpacking.
Tonight there will be a welcome dinner. There are seven students, three of whom will stay in Paris and commute and the other four of us will be living here. We are from the U.S., Canada and England. My room is upstairs with a window that looks out onto the grounds and the main house. (We are in the student house/school.) I'll take some pictures and post them.
The village is rather small, but quaint. There are a couple of restaurants and a PIZZA PLACE!!! I guess I am set. :) We'll learn more about everything tonight at the dinner.
